The sprain heals in weeks. The fear of getting hurt again needs its own rehab. Do both.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Tissue and confidence recover on different schedules. The body knits on a fairly predictable timeline, while the caution that came with the injury stays until it is worked on directly, and that caution is not weakness, it is a body protecting itself with old information. Ignoring it does not resolve it. Neither does waiting for it to fade on its own.
Rebuild the trust gradually and on purpose, at loads you are sure of, going up only when the last step felt fine. Say the fear out loud to a coach or a friend. Treating both injuries as real is what gets you all the way back.
