Some people won’t clap when you come back. Come back anyway. Applause was never the point.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Some of the people watching have a version of you they prefer, and your return complicates it. Silence from them is not a verdict on whether the return was worth making. Any comeback that depends on being cheered is fragile, because it hands the decision about your effort to whoever happens to be in the room.
Notice who you are hoping will react, then do the next piece of the work without telling them. Let the reason be something you can say plainly to yourself: you want the skill back, you want your mornings back. Approval, if it comes, can arrive late.
Whose approval are you still waiting on before restarting?
