The day you decide there’s nothing left to learn is the day someone younger starts passing you.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Competence has a way of closing itself off. Once you are good enough that most days go fine, the pressure to keep learning disappears, and your knowledge slowly becomes a snapshot of the moment you stopped. Meanwhile someone with no reputation to protect is learning the current version of the same thing.

Put one thing on your list each season that you are openly bad at. Take a lesson in something you already do, from someone better. The discomfort of being corrected is the price of staying current, and it is far lower than the price of finding out late.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where have you stopped learning because you already feel competent?
