Your best legacy might be a habit someone picked up from you and never realized where it came from.

Influence usually travels without credit. Someone watches how you handle a setback, or how you greet people, and years later they do it themselves with no memory of where it started. That kind of transmission is invisible to you and completely real to them.

Since you cannot control what gets copied, the only lever is being worth copying in the ordinary moments. Notice who is around when you are impatient or careless, not only when you are trying. And if you know where one of your own habits came from, say so to that person while you can.
