It’s okay to be disappointed with God. Tell Him. He’s heard worse and stayed.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Disappointment gets swallowed because saying it feels like a failure of loyalty, so people go quiet in exactly the season they most need to speak. Silence is not reverence. The relationship can hold a complaint, and the long history of people shouting theirs suggests it always could. Nothing you say is going to be the thing that ends it.
Say the actual sentence, the one you have been editing. Not the acceptable version, the true one about what you wanted and did not get. Then stay in the conversation afterwards, since the staying is what makes it honesty rather than a door closing quietly.
What have you been too polite to say out loud in prayer?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
