Grandma’s handwritten recipe card is a time machine with grease stains. Guard it.

Handwriting carries information the words do not. The pressure of the pen, the abbreviation only she used, the grease from the day she cooked with the card propped against the pan: all of that records a person doing something, not just instructions for a dish. Typed out, the recipe survives. The evidence of her does not.
Find out where the physical originals are and make sure somebody knows. Photograph them, keep the card itself somewhere safe, and cook from it at least once so the next stain is yours. Things like this tend to get lost in a move rather than on purpose.
