Insecure leaders shrink everyone around them so they look taller. It works until the season starts.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Making other people smaller is a way of managing your own doubt, and it does produce a kind of comfort. The trouble is that it also produces a weaker group, and weakness stays hidden only while nothing is being tested. When the real thing arrives, you are standing on a team you spent months diminishing.
Notice the impulse to correct, interrupt, or downplay when someone near you does something well. Try praising it out loud instead, specifically, in front of others. It costs you nothing you actually needed.
Whose shine have you dimmed to feel bigger yourself?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
