Your team learns how to lose by watching your face on the bus ride home.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Losing is a skill that gets taught by demonstration, usually without anybody intending to teach it. Whether a defeat becomes something to learn from or something to be ashamed of is decided in the hour afterwards, by whoever everyone is watching. Sulking, blaming, and false brightness all get copied as readily as composure.
On the ride home after the next bad result, say one true thing about what happened and one ordinary thing about something else. You do not have to pretend it was fine. Showing people that a loss can be survived without drama is most of the lesson.
