Share what you’re learning while you’re still figuring it out. Somebody two steps behind you needs exactly that.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

The person best placed to explain something is often not the expert but the one who learned it last week. Experts have forgotten what it was like to not know, so their explanations skip the steps that actually confuse people. Your half-formed version still contains the confusion, which is precisely the part a beginner needs.

Write up what you figured out this week, briefly and imperfectly, and put it where someone could find it. Say what you got wrong first. Teaching at your current level also shows you which parts you only think you understand.
