People-pleasing is a loan with ugly interest. You pay it back in resentment.

Saying yes when you mean no buys a smooth moment on credit. The cost turns up later as resentment, pointed at people who never asked for the sacrifice and often would not have wanted it. Nobody in that arrangement gets what they actually needed, which is why it keeps failing in the same way.
Notice where a yes is already gathering interest and go back and change it while there is still time. Say the plain version: you cannot do it, or you can do a smaller piece. A short awkward conversation costs far less than the slow version you have been paying.
Who do you resent for something you agreed to?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
