The guy weaving through traffic usually ends up one car ahead of you at the light.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Frantic movement buys very little and costs a great deal in risk and attention. It feels productive because it is effortful and visible, and the result at the next junction is a difference of a few seconds. Most of the time the constraint is the road, not your positioning in it.

When you notice yourself weaving, at work or in a group or in your own plans, check what the actual bottleneck is. If the road is the limit, moving faster within it achieves nothing except wear. Save the energy for the moments when the road genuinely opens up.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Do you rush in ways that buy you almost nothing?

MORE IN MEANING & PERSPECTIVE

Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
