Getting to know yourself means meeting the petty, jealous, lazy parts too. They’ve been there the whole time; say hi.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A full picture of yourself has to include the parts you would not introduce to anyone. Envy, laziness, the small meanness that surfaces when you are tired: these are not intruders, they have been running alongside everything else for years. Pretending otherwise does not remove them, it only removes your ability to see them coming.
When one of them shows up this week, name it without immediately putting yourself on trial. Say what it is and let it be there. The parts you can look at plainly are the ones that stop steering you from behind.
Which unflattering part of yourself do you pretend not to have?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
