Maturity is understanding that not every disappointment deserves a crisis.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Not every setback needs to be an emergency. A cancelled plan, a rejection, a small failure, a friend who let you down: each can be met with a proportionate response or escalated into a referendum on your life. The escalation is a habit rather than a necessity, and it costs the days you spend in it.

When something disappointing lands, ask how much this will matter in a month, and let the answer set the size of your reaction. Feel it fully and briefly. Saving your full response for the things that genuinely warrant it means it will actually be available when they arrive.
