Time doesn’t heal anything on its own. It just gives you the room to do the work.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Healing is not something the calendar performs on your behalf. What time supplies is distance and room, which make it possible to grieve, to think and to slowly rebuild, though none of that happens by itself. People still in pain years later are not failing at it, they often just never got the room or the help.

Use whatever space you have for something small and real. Say the thing out loud to one person, or write it down, or make the appointment. Time will not do this part, and it does not have to be done quickly.
