Some people break out in excuses every time you improve. Don’t let their reaction set your pace.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Improvement in one person can land as an accusation on another. When you start doing something differently, people who are not doing it may hear a comment about themselves that you never made, and the excuses that follow are aimed at their own discomfort. It is rarely about you at all. Slowing down to soothe it only costs you the progress.

Keep going without explaining or apologizing for the change. Do not lecture anyone, since the work speaks for itself. Some of them will come around later and a few will not, and both of those are survivable.
