A stable lets a horse rest after a hard day. Have a place, a person or a playlist that does that for you.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Recovery works better when it has a location. An animal with somewhere reliable to be stops bracing, and so do people, but only if the place is consistent enough to be recognised as safe. Without one, rest becomes something you attempt wherever you happen to be, surrounded by everything you were just doing. The container matters nearly as much as the resting.
Set one up deliberately instead of hoping you stumble into it. A corner of a room, a particular walk, forty minutes of the same album, one friend who needs no updating. Use it at the end of the hardest day this week, then again next time.
Where do you go to settle after a hard day?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
