Your body remembers training even after weeks off. Coming back is faster than starting.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Fitness fades more slowly than it feels like it does, and what stays underneath is not only muscle. The movement patterns, the tolerance for discomfort, the sense of what a session should feel like all remain. That is why the first week back is miserable and the fourth is surprisingly close to where you left off. You are restoring something rather than building it from nothing.

Go back expecting the first few sessions to be humbling, and plan them smaller than your pride wants. Half the volume, same days. The speed of the return comes from being consistent for a couple of weeks, not from how hard day one was.
