Struggling in public is embarrassing. Struggling in private is lonely. Pick someone safe and do it with them.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Two bad options are usually on offer when things are going wrong, and most people flip between them. Doing it where everyone can see costs dignity you have none to spare; doing it alone means nobody can help and the thing grows in the dark. The middle route is narrow, and it is where nearly all the relief is.
Choose one person who is unlikely to repeat it or make a story of it, and tell them the real version this week. Not the room, not nobody, just them. If no one comes to mind, a counsellor or a coach counts, and they have usually heard something like it before.
Who would you choose to struggle alongside instead of alone?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
