You’re allowed to be relieved when a hard season ends without needing it to have been worth it.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Pressure to turn every hard stretch into a lesson is everywhere, as though relief on its own were not allowed. Some seasons cost more than they gave, and finishing them is the whole achievement. You do not owe anyone a silver lining. Meaning may arrive later or it may not, and either way the thing is over.
If something hard has just ended for you, let the first response be rest rather than a summary. Mark the ending somehow, even plainly: a good meal, a long sleep, an evening with nothing in it. The accounting can wait.
Can you feel relieved something is over without calling it worthwhile?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
