The worst feedback you’ll ever get is usually the most useful once your face stops burning.

RESILIENCE
Hard criticism arrives with so much heat that you cannot read it for a while. The burning is about being seen, and it passes, and underneath it there is often the one piece of information nobody else was willing to hand you. Easy feedback is comfortable because it is mostly already known. The useful kind lands badly by definition.
Keep the hard feedback rather than deleting it, and look again in two days once the sting has gone. Pull out the one sentence that is actually about the work. Act on that sentence this week and leave the tone of it behind.
