The truth can survive being questioned.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Anything actually true is not endangered by examination. It may need better articulation, or turn out to be more qualified than you thought, and it does not require protection from questions. That is the practical difference between a true belief and a fragile one, and it is why the impulse to shut down inquiry is such a reliable warning sign.
If you hold something you believe is true, let it be questioned. Invite the hardest version of the objection. What survives comes back stronger and better understood, and what does not survive was going to fail eventually anyway.
Which belief of yours would you rather nobody examined?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
