The choice you make tired at 1 a.m. still counts at 8 a.m.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Being tired changes your judgement and does not change the result. At one in the morning everything feels both urgent and weightless, the message seems necessary, the risk seems small, and the version of you making the call has the least access to perspective. Eight hours later the decision is still standing there, with no note explaining that you were exhausted.
Make a rule that nothing important gets decided or sent after a certain hour, and let the draft wait until morning. Write it if you need to, then leave it unsent. If something genuinely cannot wait, say so to one person before you act.
Do you trust the version of you that stays up late?
