Sometimes the brave thing is staying. Staying in a hard class, a hard job, a hard talk.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Courage gets pictured as motion, so leaving, leaping and starting all get counted while remaining does not. Staying in something hard when the door is open and walking out would be an immediate relief is also a decision, made repeatedly, with nobody watching and nobody impressed. Most hard things get easier through sheer duration rather than through insight, which means the staying is doing the work.

Take one thing you would like to escape and set a date rather than a mood for deciding about it. Four more weeks, then review. Moods are a bad clock.
