Early guitar distortion came from damaged amps and torn speakers. Somebody heard broken and called it a sound.

Faults become features when somebody decides to listen differently. A torn speaker was a repair job until a player heard something worth keeping in it, and then the defect turned into a technique other people chased on purpose. That shift happened in the listening rather than in the equipment. Most new sounds started as something going wrong in front of somebody paying attention.

Next time something breaks or misbehaves in your process, play with it for ten minutes before you fix it. Ask whether the wrong version has anything in it you could use. Keep a note of the glitches you liked, because that is a list nobody else has.
