Creating every day doesn’t mean a masterpiece every day. Some days you just keep the engine warm.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

A daily practice has two purposes, and people only count one. Some sessions produce something. Most of them just keep the habit, the hands and the attention in working order, so that when a real idea arrives you are already moving. Judging every day by output means quitting after a bad week, when the maintenance days are what make the good ones possible.

Set a floor so low you cannot miss it: ten minutes, one page, one loop. Log that you turned up rather than what it was worth. On the flat days, do the boring part and let that count as the whole job.
