Money buys speed in many places but cannot guarantee direction.

Resources accelerate whatever you are already doing. They shorten the path, remove obstacles, and get you where you were heading much faster, which is excellent when the direction is right and costly when it is not. Speed does not contain any information about the destination.

Before putting money behind something to make it go faster, spend a while on whether it is the right thing at all. An hour on direction is worth more than a great deal spent on pace.
