Painting big teaches you to move your whole arm, not just your wrist. Some work needs a bigger version of you.

Scale changes what your body has to do, and that changes what you can make. A wrist produces detail and little else, while a whole arm produces sweep, commitment and marks you cannot undo, which forces a different kind of decision. Some work is simply not available at small size. Growing into it means working bigger physically, not only getting better.

Tape up the largest piece of paper or card you can find and work on it standing. Use your shoulder rather than your fingers. Notice which marks you only got because you could not be careful.
