Lifeguards train for a save they hope they’ll never have to make. Be ready before you’re needed.

RESILIENCE
Preparation has to happen before the need appears, which is exactly why it always feels pointless. A lifeguard drills for a rescue that may never come, and the training is not wasted if it never gets used, because that is the whole arrangement. Readiness looks like effort spent on nothing right up until the one day it is not. By then there is no time left to acquire it.
Learn one thing now that you would want in an emergency. Where the first aid kit is, how to change a tyre, what to do if the plan fails. Then hope it stays unused.
What are you training for that you hope never happens?
