Jonah cared more about a shade plant than a whole city. It’s possible to be right about God and wrong about people.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A man gets his theology right and his compassion badly wrong, losing his temper over a dead plant while a whole city barely registers. Being right is not the same as being good at this. Correct positions sit comfortably alongside a failure to care about anyone affected by them. It is a common arrangement and hard to see from inside.

Check your own ratio this week. Notice what you got annoyed about, and whether any of it was a person rather than an inconvenience. Then do one thing for somebody you have been treating as a category.
