When you get a little responsibility, don’t act bigger. Act more reliable.

CREATIVITY
Being given a little authority creates a pull toward performing the role: the voice, the opinions, the acting like someone senior. Nobody around you wants the performance. What they are watching for is whether the thing they handed you actually gets done without being chased. Size is loud and cheap; reliability is quiet and rare.
For the next two weeks, treat every small promise as the real test. Show up five minutes early, finish the till count properly, text when you are running late. Nobody will compliment any of it, and all of it gets noticed.
Where could you become more reliable rather than more important?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
