Learning to swim at fifteen in the shallow end with little kids takes more guts than diving at five ever did.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

At five you have no audience inside your head. At fifteen you have a crowded one, and every lap in the shallow end is being watched by an imaginary room full of people your own age. The water is the same. The courage required is completely different, and it is you who is paying it.

If you want it, book the quietest slot you can find: early mornings, or the adult beginner session where everyone there is doing the same brave thing. Go four times before you judge it. Nobody in that pool is thinking about you.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What would you learn now even among much younger beginners?
