When you quit something, people ask why. When you stay somewhere miserable, nobody asks. Ask yourself anyway.

Scrutiny only arrives when you move. Leaving triggers a hundred questions about whether you are sure, while staying somewhere that is slowly flattening you gets no questions at all, because the default never has to justify itself. Nobody is going to run the audit on your behalf.

So run it yourself, on purpose, once. Write down what this is costing you and what you are getting, in plain terms, and then ask whether you would choose it again from scratch. Do it in writing rather than in your head, because your head will let you drift straight past the question.
