A new haircut won’t change your life, but it can remind you that you’re allowed to change things.

Small changes to how you look do very little on their own, and that is not the point of them. What they do is interrupt the sense that everything about you is fixed and was decided by somebody else. A single thing you chose and altered is a reminder that the rest is also open, which is surprisingly useful to be reminded of.
Change one small thing you have power over this week. The haircut, the room, the route you walk, the first hour of your day. Treat it as a test of what else is movable rather than as a transformation.
What small change would remind you that changing is still allowed?
