Useful knowledge is spread unevenly and takes no notice of age or seniority. A nine year old has spent more hours inside that app than you have and will show you something in ten seconds. The only thing that stops you learning it is the assumption that teaching flows downwards.

Let somebody younger teach you something this week and actually pay attention. Ask a sibling or a cousin how they do the thing you do slowly. Saying show me costs nothing and tends to make people fond of you.
