A plateau means one of two things: you need more time, or you need a new method. Guessing wrong can cost you months.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Flat progress has two quite different causes and they call for opposite responses. Sometimes the work is already right and the result simply has not arrived yet, so patience is the whole answer. Sometimes the method has reached its limit and no amount of repetition will move it, in which case waiting costs you a season. Telling them apart is the actual skill.

Find somebody who has been past the point you are stuck at and describe exactly what you are doing. Ask them whether it is time or technique. One conversation is cheaper than four more months of guessing.
