Thank the older person at work who answered your hundredth question without sighing. That was a choice.

CREATIVITY
Patience with a new person is work, and it is unpaid. The colleague who answered again without making you feel stupid chose to do that, each time, while their own tasks waited. It is easy to mistake for a personality trait when it is actually a small, repeated act of generosity.
Tell them, specifically and out loud, before you get good and forget you needed it. Name the thing they explained and that it stuck. Then be that person for whoever arrives after you, because the chain only continues if somebody keeps it going.
Who answered your questions patiently when they did not have to?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
