The screenshot of your old take might follow you forever. Let it follow you to a better one.

Things you said in public do not reliably disappear, and no amount of deleting changes that. The usable response is not to pretend it never happened but to be visibly somebody who thinks differently now, at length and consistently. An old opinion sitting next to years of a better one tells a story about change.

If something of yours is still out there, own it once in plain terms and then stop managing it. Say what you think now and why it moved. The record of the newer version is built by carrying on rather than by explaining.
