Quit dance after twelve years and you’ll still count music in eights for the rest of your life.

CREATIVITY
Years of training leave structures in you that do not switch off when you stop. Counting in eights, hearing a phrase begin, knowing where the music is going: none of that was the point of the lessons, and all of it stays. Whatever you leave has already changed how you perceive things, permanently and mostly invisibly.
Make a short list of what an old discipline left behind in you, beyond the skill itself. Then use one of those things somewhere new on purpose. Quitting the activity never meant giving back what it built.
What old training still runs in your head without permission?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
