Supplies in a working house are the result of somebody tracking them. Before you lived alone, that tracking was invisible work: noticing, buying, carrying, replacing, remembering which thing runs out fastest. The shock of the first month is not really the cost. It is realising that someone had been doing all of this without comment.
You can see it early without moving out. Take over one category at home for a month, the bathroom supplies or the bin bags, and own it completely. Then thank whoever has been quietly handling the other thirty things.
What did somebody handle for years before you ever noticed?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
