When you’re the veteran, remember how it felt to be the rookie. Pass that patience down.

Competence erases the memory of struggle surprisingly fast. Once something is easy you stop being able to see why anyone would find it hard, which is how perfectly decent people end up impatient with beginners. The patience you wanted when you were new is only available if somebody chooses to remember being new.
Find the newest person where you are, on the team or at work, and hand them one thing you had to work out alone. Say it without making them ask twice. Ten minutes of that is the cheapest useful thing you will do this week.
Which newcomer could use the patience someone once showed you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
