Someone on your team is waiting for permission to be good. Give it to them.

Plenty of people hold back their best work because they are not sure it is welcome. They worry that caring openly will look like trying too hard. A single sentence from you can settle that question. Being told you are allowed is often the whole difference between a quiet teammate and a good one.

Think of one person who seems to be holding something back. Tell them you want them on the harder job next time. Then give them a real chance to do it this week, and say so in front of the others.
