Lead with questions when you’re new. Lead with statements once you’re trusted.

Early on, questions do two jobs: they get you the information you are missing, and they show you are not assuming everybody here was doing it wrong. Statements at that stage are a bet on knowledge you do not have yet. Once you have earned some credit the opposite applies, because endless asking starts to look like you will not commit. Knowing which phase you are in is most of the skill.
Work out honestly how long you have been here, and pick your mode accordingly. If you are new, spend this week asking and writing the answers down. If you are not, say what you think should happen.
In which group are you new enough to be asking rather than telling?
