Leaders don’t need every answer. They need to ask the question nobody else wanted to ask.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Rooms develop blind spots that everybody can see and nobody mentions. The silence is usually politeness mixed with a fear of looking slow. What moves a group forward is rarely a brilliant answer; more often it is somebody naming the obvious problem out loud. That takes nerve rather than knowledge, which is why it stays available to you even when you are the least experienced person there.

Next time you notice the thing nobody is saying, say it as a question instead of an accusation. One question like that per meeting is enough to change how a group works.
