You don’t need a title to lead. Just be the one who stacks the chairs after practice without being asked.
LEADERSHIP
LEADERSHIP
Leadership gets confused with position, and position is mostly about who was available when somebody was choosing. What actually moves a group is whoever sets the standard for effort when nobody is assigning it. The chairs are a small thing and they get read accurately by everybody present: that person does the unglamorous part without being asked, which makes their word worth something later.
Do one unassigned job this week and do not mention it. Stay back, carry something, tidy the thing nobody owns. Keep it up for a month and watch who starts asking what you think before decisions get made.
What could you tidy up without anyone asking you to?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
