Raising your hand to say “wait, I’m lost” is usually a favor to twelve quiet people.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Confusion in a room is almost never held by one person. When you are lost, several others are too, and everyone is doing the same arithmetic about who will take the risk of looking slow. Whoever speaks absorbs that risk once and releases everybody else from it.
Be that person once this week. Say that you did not follow the last part, in class, at training or in a shift briefing. Watch how many people lean in when you do. You are not holding anyone up; you are doing a job that needed doing.
What question are you sitting on that others share?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
