Stamina isn’t something you have or don’t have. It’s something you collect, one slightly longer session at a time.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Endurance is an accumulation rather than a trait. Nobody arrives with it, and it grows in increments almost too small to notice, each session a little longer than the last until a distance that was impossible becomes routine. Calling it something people either have or lack hides the mechanism completely.

Add a small amount this week rather than a large one: five more minutes, one more lap, two more pages past where you usually stop. Keep the increase small enough that you can repeat it tomorrow. Measure against a month ago rather than against how today felt.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What could you do slightly longer than yesterday this week?
