Asking makes you feel small for about twenty seconds and capable for years afterward. Most people would rather stay stuck than look like they do not know, which is why so few of them ever learn the simple things. The question is not a confession of weakness. It is the shortest route between not knowing and knowing.

Pick one task you keep handing to somebody else, at home or at work, and ask to be shown it this week. Watch once, then do it yourself while they are still standing there.
