Precision makes repeatability possible.

RESILIENCE
Doing something well once can be luck, mood, or an unusual set of conditions. Doing it well again requires knowing which parts were essential and holding those constant, which is impossible if you never specified them. Precision is what turns a good outcome into a method that can be run a second time.
After something goes unusually well, write down what you actually did while it is fresh. Not the summary, the particulars, the order, the amounts, the conditions. It feels excessive at the time and it is the only reason you will be able to reproduce it when you need to.
