“I’m just not good at it” is often “I haven’t practiced it” with the ending cut off.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Ability gets described as a fixed quality when most of it is accumulated time. Somebody who has done a thing four hundred times looks naturally gifted beside somebody who has done it twice, and from outside you only ever see the gap rather than the hours that made it. Calling it talent is a way of making that gap permanent.
Take one settled belief about yourself and put twenty minutes against it, three times this week. Not to get good, just to see whether the line moves at all. If it moves, the original statement was about your practice.
What have you written off as a talent you lack?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
