Telling your boss “that was me” with a straight face is a skill. Practice it on small stuff first.

REFLECTION
Claiming it out loud is a physical skill as much as a moral one. The words are simple, but your voice wants to climb, your face wants to apologize twice, and the sentence tends to arrive wrapped in reasons. Like anything physical, it gets easier with reps, and reps are cheap when the stakes are low. Doing it on a small error teaches your body the move before a large one needs it.
This week, claim three tiny things nobody would have pinned on you. Say it flat, then stop talking. You are not performing guilt, you are learning that nothing bad happens next.
What small thing could you own at work this week?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
